Gabrielle Gruber, LMSW

Gabrielle Gruber is a fully licensed clinical social worker. She treats children and adults with a wide variety of challenges, including but not limited to trauma, anxiety, depression, emotion regulation and attachment disruptions, relationship problems, and parenting challenges. Ms. Gruber works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She uses an empathic, collaborative approach with clients; she believes that clients bring their own expertise about their lives and offers an integrative treatment modality, drawing from family systems, cognitive-behavioral, play therapy, psychodynamic, sensorimotor, and mindfulness models. Ms. Gruber has a special interest in working with very young children and their families, adolescent girls, and survivors of abuse.

She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2003 and completed a post-masters fellowship at the University of Michigan Center for the Child and Family (UCCF), where she worked with children, adolescents, and families facing a wide range of challenges in individual, family, and group therapy. At the Center for Neuropsychology, Learning, and Development in Ann Arbor, she worked with children and families to manage the social and emotional challenges associated with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. In addition, she also has worked with the University of Michigan’s Mom Power project, supporting young mothers and providing psychoeducation about attachment and parenting. She has also worked extensively with survivors of domestic violence and has researched and published on its impact on women and children. Ms. Gruber has been in private practice since 2009 and has recently affiliated with Ann Arbor Center for the Family.

Ms. Gruber is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and participates with BCBS of Michigan.
